ESP32 - Combo Wi-Fi and Bluetooth IC with on-board Microcontroller

The Espressif ESP32 is a highly integrated 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo chip with built in 32bit microprocessor. Its tiny form factor measures just 6mm x 6mm making it ideal for small designs that require extremley low power.  The ESP32 has been optimized for the best power and RF performance and features excellent robustness, versatility and reliability.

The Espressif ESP32 is a System on Chip (SOC) combining Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with a 32bit microprocessor. ESP32 can be used as a complete, standalone system or as a slave device to a host MCU to reduce communication stack overhead on the main application processor. ESP32 can interface with other systems to provide Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality through the SPI / SDIO or I2C / UART interfaces.

The Espressif ESP32 is designed for mobile, wearable electronics, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. It has many features which are state-of-the-art including very low power, fine resolution clock gating and various power modes inclduing dynamic power scaling.

ESP32 is currently the most integrated solution for Wi-Fi + Bluetooth applications, measuring just 6mm x 6mm and requiring less that 10 external components for simple implementation.

The device also integrates the antenna switch, RF balun, power amplifier, low noise receive amplifier, filters, and power management modules. As such, the entire solution is perfect for designs that require very a small form factor.

ESP32-DevKitC

ESP32-DevKitC is a small-sized ESP32-based development board produced by Espressif. Most of the I/O pins are led out to the pin headers on both sides for easy interfacing. Developers can connect these pins to peripherals as needed. Standard headers also make development easy and convenient when using a breadboard.
